Lady Vikings, Scarlets excel in valley track meet

The Lady Vikes captured first place in the 400-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, 4X100 relay, the 4X400 relay, the pole vault, and the triple jump.

Revis takes first in 100, 200-meter dash

Arlee High School runner Ashley Revis took first in the 100 and 200-meter dash. Revis recorded a time of 13.72 seconds in the 100 and got a first place time of 28.29 in the 200-meter.

Revis accounted for two of three Scarlets first place victories at the event.

Other participants in the 100-meter that finished behind Revis included Charlo’s Allie Delaney with a time of 13.81, Ronan’s Kinsley Barney recorded a time of 13.87 seconds, and Lady Vikes Tyrah Hammond and Kara Tatukivei finished out the top 5. Hammond recorded a time of 14.02 seconds and Tatukivei finished with a time of 14.18 seconds. Charlo’s Kamryn Caye recorded a PR in the event.

Hammond finished second in the 200 with a time of 28.55, Ronan’s Kinsely Barney finished third with a time of 29.38, Polson’s Faith Olson had a time of 29.54 seconds, and Kara Tatukivei rounded out the top 5 with a time of 29. 59 seconds.

Tatukivei captures 400

Charlo’s Kara Tatukivei was a key contributor in the Lady Vikes’ dominance of the event. Tatukivei finished first in the 400-meter with a time of 1 minute, 7 seconds in the race that included four participants. Destiny Manuel, Kinsely Barney, and Ryan Harrop all PRed in the event.

Frissell takes 800

Polson runner Bea Frissell captured the 800-meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 26 seconds. Frissell’s teammate, Molly Sitter, PRed with a second place finished of 2 minutes, 36 seconds. Charlo’s Taylor McCready PRed with a time of 2 minutes, 37 seconds placing third. Polson’s Naima Crowl and Mission’s Karolyna Buck rounded out the top-5 finishes. Crowl recorded a time of 2 minutes, 40 seconds and Buck finished with a time of 2 minutes, 41 seconds.

Yocum dominates 3200

Arlee runner Natalie Yocum finished first in the 3200 with a time of 12 minutes, 51 seconds. The closest competitor to Yocum was Charlo’s Jaden Coston, who ran 13 minutes, 8 seconds. Polson’s Gwen Seeley finished third and PRed with 13 minutes, 17 seconds. Arlee’s Shawntaya Nelson and Sadia Wahl both finished in the top 5. Nelson finished fourth with a time of 14 minutes, 8 seconds and Wahl recorded a PR with a time of 15 minutes, 12 seconds. The other PR in the event was Polson’s Elisabeth Bjorge with a time of 15 minutes, 59 seconds.

Delaney wins 100,300

Charlo High School runner Allie Delaney captured first in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

Delaney won the 100-meters with a time of 17.41 seconds. Delaney’s teammate Kaitlin Cox finished second with a time of 17.79 seconds. Polson runner Shayla Olson PRed with her third place performance of 18.78 and Dupuis and Reese rounded out the top 5. Dupuis recorded a time of 18.8 seconds and Reese PRed with a time of 19.33.

Charlo’s Cheyenne Nagy finished second with a time of 51.65, Cox recorded fourth with a time of 52.27, and Dupuis finished 53.85.

Lady Vikes capture first in relay

The Charlo High School team captured first with a time of 53.25 seconds in the 4X100 relay. Arlee High School finished second with a time of 54.43 seconds, Polson had a third place time of 54.45, and Ronan finished last with a time of 55.45 seconds.

The Lady Vikes also won the 4X400 relay. Charlo won the relay with a time of 4 minutes, 25 seconds.

Camel takes first in shot put

At the start of the year, Ronan track and field star Lee Camel was still recovering from an ankle injury she suffered in the post season.

Now fully recovered, Camel has made her impact felt in shot put.

Camel took first in the shot put event with throw of 33 feet, 9 inches. Arlee’s Peyton Lammerding PRed with a throw of 32 feet, six inches to finish second behind Camel.

Camel’s basketball teammate, Micalann McCrea, placed third with a throw of 31 feet, 7 inches and Two Eagles’ Danielle Adler finished fourth with a throw of 30 feet, 2 inches. Mission’s Mariah Durglo finished fifth with a throw of 28 feet, 4 inches. Lammerding, Mission’s Leila Marsh and Tristen Adams, Charlo’s Paige Bauer, Mission’s Alexis LaChance, and Ronan’s Kim Frisk all recorded PRs the event.

McCrea captures discus, javelin

Ronan’s Micalann McCrea continues the pattern of Ronan domination in throwing events. McCrea and her basketball teammate Alicia Camel continue to excel in throwing.

In discus, McCrea’s throws totaled 104 feet, 2 inches. Mission’s Nalani Linsebigler PRed with a second-place throw of 100 feet, 3 inches. Camel finished third totaling throws of 78 feet, 6 inches. Mission’s Alexis LeChance and Leila Marsh both finished at the bottom of the top 5. LeChance finished fourth recording throws of 75 feet, 2 inches. Leila Marsh PRed with a throw of 72 feet, 9 inches. Other PRs include Emilee Cheff at 33 feet, 7 inches.

In the jav, McCrea threw a personal record of 114 feet, 8 inches. Arlee’s Bryndle Goyins finished second with throws of 99 feet, 2 inches. Mission’s Leila Marsh PRed in third with a throw of 89 feet, Arlee’s Sydni Rogers had a throw of 88 feet, 11 inches and Mariah Durglo threw 80 feet, 11 inches. Other PRs included Charlo’s Ciara Roberts and Ronan’s Kim Frisk.

Brander takes first in triple jump

Mission High School track star Afton Brander continues to slay the competition in the long jump and placed first again levitating to 4 feet, 10 inches. Brander’s teammate Karolyna Buck finished second with a jump of 4 feet, 8 inches. Bryndle Goyins finished with a jump of 4 feet, 6 inches and Abby Yocum jumped 4 feet, 4 inches.

Hammond takes first in pole vault

Charo High School’s Tyrah Hammond PRed and finished first in the pole vault leaping to 8 feet. Lady Vikes’ Taylor McCready cleared 7 feet, 6 inches and Arlee’s Shawntaya Nelson also cleared the same height. Charlo’s Ciara Roberts and Arlee’s Alyce Corcoran also cleared the 7-foot mark. Arlee’s Kassidy Rubel PRed at 7 feet.

Camel out leaps competition

Ronan’s Lee Camel won the long jump by over a foot levitating to 15 feet, 11.5 inches. Mission’s Brander was the closest competitor recording a jump of 14 feet, 7.75 inches. Charlo’s Kaitlin Cox finished third with a jump of 14 feet, 4.5 inches, Mission’s River Gonzalez finished fourth with a jump of 13 feet, 11.25 inches, and Abby Yocum recorded 13 feet, 7.5 inches.

Camel and Cox both PRed in the event.

Tatukivei takes first in the triple

Charlo’s Kara Tatukivei PRed in the triple jump and won the triple jump with a jump of 31 feet, 11.75 inches.

Tatukivei’s teammate Cox finished with a time of 31 feet, 11.5 inches. Brander finished third with a leap of 30 feet, 11 inches, Yocum finished fourth jumping 30 feet, 10 inches, and Charlo’s Destiny Manuel leaped 29 feet, 11 inches.
