AWANA

TRUTH SEEKERS

The AWANA Truth Seekers meets at the the St. Ignatius Missionary Alliance Church every Wednesdayfrom 4:00-5:15 p.m. The church is located on third avenue, three blocks north of the school, on the corner down from the blue water tower. Truth Seekers is an AWANA based Christian Bible program meant for students K-6, but adults are welcome to attend with their children. There will be singing, Bible teaching, stories, games and snacks.

HARVEST DINNER

The Ronan/Pablo Indian Education Committee would like to invite J.O.M. students and their families to the Harvest Dinner that will be held on Friday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ronan Elementary Lunch Room. There will be story telling, crafts, cookie decorating, bingo, door prizes, and lots of fun!

GAME JAMS

Flathead Tech4Good presents the first of three Game Jams! Taking place this weekend, November 3-5 at Salish Kootenai College, the event is open to all 8th-12th graders. This is a great opportunity explore different career options, with SKC students, volunteers from Flathead Lakers, Flathead Lake Bio Station, Native Teaching Aids, and Watershed Education Network on hand to answer questions. SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER

To help PHS student Charmayne Morrison raise money for participate in the Jr. Iditarod race in Alaska this winter, a spaghetti dinner will be held on Saturday November 4th at the Elk’s Club in Polson from 6-9 pm. Adults-$8, children under 12-$5, Under 5, free. There will be silent auction items, and a dog-sledding presentation where Charmayne will answer questions about her experiences on the trail. If weather permits, she will bring some of her dog-sled team for people to meet. PANCAKE

BREAKFAST

The Yellow Bay Community Club will be serving a pancake breakfast on Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the clubhouse located on the east shore of Flathead Lake, MT Highway 35 at mile-maker 18. The public is invited to enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, ham and sausages at a nominal cost of $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for children ages 8 and under.

The event includes a bake sale of homemade pies and cakes, and in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, new and gently used holiday decorations will be available for purchase. A silent auction featuring Hazel Conway’s one-of-kind crib blankets will be on display and available to bidders during the event hours.

The public is welcome to attend this free event. All proceeds from the breakfast, sales, and silent auction will be donated to charities regularly selected by the Yellow Bay Club. The club’s fundraising activities also help with upkeep and preservation of the historic 75-year-old clubhouse building.

ADULT COLORING PROGRAM

“Sparkle On!” an adult coloring program, will be held at North Lake County Public Library in Polson on Wed., Nov. 8, at 2:30 and again at 5:30 p.m. The theme of this pre-holiday program is “all things glittery.”

A new trend in the world of coloring relaxation is Paint by Sticker. There will be projects available to try, along with coloring supplies and tasty fall snacks. If you have some sparkly jewelry, wear it to the program! The library is located at #2 First Ave. E. in Polson. Please call the circulation desk at 406-883-8225 for more information. FIRE DISTRICT MEETING

The regular monthly meeting of the Polson Rural Fire District Board of Trustees will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. at Fairgrounds Station No. 1 meeting room, 25-B Regatta Rd. Monthly and special meetings have changed their meeting times permanently to 6 p.m.

VETERANS TO BE HONORED

Students at Glacier View School, 36332 Mud Creek Lane, have prepared a short program honoring veterans and it will be followed by a delicious and free hot meal. Students want to thank you for your service and remind you that they have not forgotten you or your sacrifices for our freedom. Veterans are welcome to bring family and friends to this celebration program at lunch at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY

The Marine Corps 242nd Birthday Celebration with Silent Auction will be held on Friday, November 10 at the Polson VFW Post upstairs. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the Hellroaring Detachment Scholarship Program. The evening will begin with a no-host Social Hour at 6pm, Cake Cutting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m., introductions at 6:45 p.m. and Dinner at 7 p.m. This event is opened to families and the public.

The Award Ceremony and results of the Silent Auction will start at 8 p.m.

This year’s dinner menu features a buffet style consisting of prime rib and stuffed pork chop with all the trimmings.

The event is open seating. Reservation seating is available for tables of eight (8).
