AWANA

TRUTH SEEKERS

The AWANA Truth Seekers meets at the the St. Ignatius Missionary Alliance Church every Wednesdayfrom 4:00-5:15 p.m. The church is located on third avenue, three blocks north of the school, on the corner down from the blue water tower. Truth Seekers is an AWANA based Christian Bible program meant for students K-6, but adults are welcome to attend with their children. There will be singing, Bible teaching, stories, games and snacks.

VETERANS TO BE HONORED

Students at Glacier View School, 36332 Mud Creek Lane, have prepared a short program honoring veterans and it will be followed by a delicious and free hot meal. Students want to thank you for your service and remind you that they have not forgotten you or your sacrifices for our freedom. Veterans are welcome to bring family and friends to this celebration program at lunch at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9.

PACHYDERM CLUB MEETING

Lake County Pachyderms will host Tom McDonald, manager of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation, and Conservation Department for the Salish & Kootenai Tribe on Friday, November 10. He will be giving an update on the efforts in trying to control the Mussel infestation in Montana lakes. The business meeting starts at noon and adjourns at 1:00 p.m. at the Polson Rural Fire Department. Everyone wishing to learn more about this very important issue is cordially invited to attend.

MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY

The Marine Corps 242nd Birthday Celebration with Silent Auction will be held on Friday, November 10 at the Polson VFW Post upstairs. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to the Hellroaring Detachment Scholarship Program. The evening will begin with a no-host Social Hour at 6pm, Cake Cutting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m., introductions at 6:45 p.m. and Dinner at 7 p.m. This event is opened to families and the public.

The Award Ceremony and results of the Silent Auction will start at 8 p.m.

This year’s dinner menu features a buffet style consisting of prime rib and stuffed pork chop with all the trimmings.

The event is open seating. Reservation seating is available for tables of eight (8).

VETERANS DAY FREE ADMISSION

VALLEY VIEW POTLUCK

Come join us for our monthly potlucks. Valley View Clubhouse, 40762 Valley View Road, social time 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite potluck dish to share and come enjoy good company and good food. HOLIDAY SHOPPING FOR TECHNOLOGY CLASS

Shopping for technology for the holidays? North Lake County Public Library will host a free class on Tuesday, November 14 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Specialist Heather Miles will present a session called Holiday Shopping for Technology. The class will offer information about what technology devices best fit your needs and the needs of those on your gift list.

Registration is required. Refreshments will be served.

BIG ARM COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER

The Big Arm Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be Saturday, Nov. 18 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Big Arm Fire Hall. All are welcome at the free event but donations of canned goods for the Polson Food Bank will be taken. The event is sponsored by the West Shore Community Church. RONAN COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER

The 13th Annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be on November 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ronan Community Center. Each year, the celebration draws several hundred residents, coming to share conversation, homemade pie and the chance to recognize the good that has come into their lives. Dinner is free but volunteers and cooks are needed. Volunteers are needed to help serve, cook, and clean up. Turkeys, pies, and rolls, are also needed. Call Brandy Chisholm at 250-8808 to donate food and Ronan Chamber at 676-8300 to volunteer some time. Everyone is welcome to attend and the dinner is free. ST. IGNATIUS COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER

The free St. Ignatius Thanksgiving Community Dinner will be served on Thursday, Nov. 23. A full homemade dinner with turkey, ham and all the trimmings will be served from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Middle School commons area. There will be signs in town to show directions. Everyone is welcome to share the bounty and enjoy eating with our friends, neighbors, and community. The event is hosted by St. Ignatius Christian Missionary Alliance Church. YOUR LIFE MATTERS Your Life Matters Project will be holding our annual election of board members on Monday, November 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the “Cottonwood” board room at St. Luke’s Hospital. We invite anyone interested in running as a board member to attend this meeting. YLM Project is a Non Profit Group of community members and are here to get the word out about suicide prevention and awareness.
