Lady Pirates volleyball falls to Libby in three

The Polson Lady Pirates volleyball team lost their homecoming match against Libby in three closely contested sets 18-25, 21-25, 22-25.

Kaelyn Smith led the team with a total of 12 kills, Paige Noyes had seven kills and Mikaela DuCharme finished the night with six kills.

The Pirates had five aces on the night and were led by Kaylee Evertz, who finished with three aces.

Setter Laurel Bitterman had 13 of the team’s 21 assists and Jaycee Frydenlund finished with six kills.

Kyler Lundeen finished with 15 of the team’s 40 digs and Smith also contributed with eight.

Lady Vikings defeat Scarlets in five

The Charlo Lady Vikings got a critical district win against the Arlee Scarlets Friday at Arlee High School.

The Lady Vikings won their match 24-26, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Scarlets player Ashley Revis finished with 16 of Arlee’s 33 kills. Setter Sydni Rogers finished with 18 of the team’s 23 assists, and Revis and Nellie Desjarlais finished with three blocks each. Fiddler also led Arlee with 25 digs.

One of the key contributors to the Vikings’ victory was the team’s 12 aces. Ally Delaney led the team with five aces, Kaitlyn Cox had 13 of the team’s 29 kills, and Tea Truman had 69 of the 130 sets. Sakoya Gaustad had 10 blocks and Truman finished with 51 of the team’s 261 digs.

Lady Bulldogs fall to Loyola in four

The Mission Lady Bulldogs volleyball team lost to Loyola in four games 18-25, 25-16, 22-25, 16-25.

River Gonzalez and Azia Umphrey led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 kills each. Sophia Tolbert had 15 of the team’s 25 assists, and Karolyna Buck led the team recording nine of their 26 kills.

Frankie Smith, Tristen Adams, and Afton Brander each had two aces in the loss.
