The Killdeer Artisans group is happy to announce that Jane Lindgren will be the featured artist for the Killdeer fall show. Don’t miss her fanciful, colorful abstract watercolors. The show will be up until January 2018 at Hangin’ Art Gallery & Café in Arlee.
“ART IN AUTUMN” EXHIBIT
Takes Horse Gallery, 49487 US Highway 93, is proud to present “Art in Autumn,” an exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist John Gawne. A member of the CM Russell Museum’s elite Skull Society, John Gawne’s paintings of the western landscape and Native Americans are shown in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. This is a unique opportunity see his work, as well as paintings by some of Montana’s and the Northwest’s best artists: John Gawne, David Dragonfly, DG House, Tabby Ivy, John Pepion, Rachel Warner and Shannon Webster. The exhibition will run until Nov. 11.

SCREENING CLINIC
A free developmental and preschool screening clinic for children ages 0-5 in the Charlo School District will be held Monday, October 23 from 9 a.m. until noon at Charlo School and the Dixon School from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Please call the school to schedule an appointment or for more information. The screening will include gross motor, fine motor, language concepts, communication skills, communication concepts, hearing and vision screenings.

IMPACTS
Mission Valley Rises: Democracy Engaged! is a group that believes our community is strong enough to find common ground and even common solutions. The group is offering a series of community talks – under the broad title of Community Health and Healing Forum. The first of these conversations will be: State Budget Cuts – Impact on Lake County Residents. In this conversation, Heather O’Loughlin, of the Montana Budget and Policy Center, will give an overview of how these changes occurred, and how they will affect Lake County residents. After her talk, the group plans a lively, civil discussion, involving members of the community, as well as local representatives and health care professionals. This forum will be held Tuesday, October 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Polson Library Community Room. Mission Valley Rises: Democracy Engaged! welcomes all people who are interested in these issues and who want to work to further the conversation. RMS and RHS CHOIR CONCERT
Please join the Ronan Middle School and High School choirs for their Fall Concert, October 24th. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and showcases everything that the students have been working on up to this point in the year. They have been working very hard on their musical repertoire and are excited to share with others! Come support Ronan School Choirs!

COMPUTER CLASS
North Lake County Public Library will host a free technology class on Tuesday, October 24 at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. Specialist Heather Miles will present a session called Absolute Computer Basics: Software. The class will answer such questions as: What is software? How do you download and upload?
Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets to follow along. Registration is required. Refreshments will be served.

FREE NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM
The Miracle of America Museum will be hosting their monthly Free Night at the Musuem Thursday, Oct. 26. This month will feature a showing of the film “Timberjack,” partially filmed in Polson and around Montana. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free. Bring your own snacks.
HARVEST DINNER
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will hold its 47th Annual Harvest Dinner of Swedish Meatballs, potatoes, gravy, lefse, salad and dessert from 4-6:30PM on Thursday, October 26 in the church fellowship hall. Take-out orders will be available for pick-up after 3PM. Call 883-5864 to place order. Fair Trade products will also be available for purchase. Dinner proceeds will benefit Polson Rural Fire District.
PACHYDERM CLUB MEETING
Samantha Walker, manager of the Western Montana Area IV Agency on Aging, will discuss Medicare Supplement insurance plans, Advantage Programs, and prescription drug plans offered to Lake County residents, including costs, at the Friday, October 27 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club.
She also can provide information for those aged 62 and older who are looking at signing up for Medicare in the future. This information promises to be especially valuable since some health insurance companies have notified their members they will no longer be offering health insurance plans in Lake County during 2018. The meeting is open to all who desire unbiased information on health insurance plans available in Lake County for 2018.
The meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Hall at 25 Regatta Road with a social gathering starting at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting commencing from noon to 1 p.m.

“LIGHT THE NIGHT” RUN
The third annual Light the Night suicide awareness run at the Ronan High School track is presented by the Your Life Matters Project. The event takes place from 6:30-10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27. An online registration link is on the Your Life Matters Project facebook page. This is a fun 5K and 1-mile run/ walk for suicide awareness and a family event for all ages and abilities. It is so close to Halloween that we love to do costumes so plan on dressing up and having some fun. This is a night time run with fun things along the course. OBSERVE THE MOON EVENT
On Saturday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. the North Lake County Public Library will be participating in the international Observe the Moon Night. This family friendly event will consist of a short presentation followed by direct observations of the moon using a telescope as well as a fun computer program that teaches about the moon. This program is sponsored by the NASA at My Library grant we received this year.

Fellowship Baptist will have Fall Harvest Festival, Sat. Oct 28, 6-8 p.m. There will be games, chili cook-off, bonfire, cakewalk, activities for kids, costume pictures, hay ride (weather permitting) fun, food, and fellowship. Open to the public, all are welcome!

On Tuesday, October 31, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., New Life Church would like to invite residents of the Mission Valley to join them for a new era of Pumpkin Patch Bash at its new location at Polson Middle School.
This year’s event will feature “Pre-Kville,” will games designed for Pre-K-aged children. “Elementary Land” will have games designed for elementary-aged children (weather permitting), and “Pirate World” will have activities designed for teenagers.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Yellow Bay Community Club will be serving a pancake breakfast on Saturday, November 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the clubhouse located on the east shore of Flathead Lake, MT Highway 35 at mile-maker 18. The public is invited to enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, ham and sausages at a nominal cost of $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for children ages 8 and under.
The event includes a bake sale of homemade pies and cakes, and in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, new and gently used holiday decorations will be available for purchase. A silent auction featuring Hazel Conway’s one-of-kind crib blankets will be on display and available to bidders during the event hours.
The public is welcome to attend this free event. All proceeds from the breakfast, sales, and silent auction will be donated to charities regularly selected by the Yellow Bay Club. The club’s fundraising activities also help with upkeep and preservation of the historic 75-year-old clubhouse building.
