Local high school teams games postponed due to wildfires
The Charlo, Arlee football game originally scheduled Friday night at 7 p.m. at Charlo High School were postponed.
The two conference rivals are now slated to play their varsity football game at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Charlo High School because of the adverse outdoor weather conditions caused by several area wild fires.
The Vikings will now announce its homecoming king and queen at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lady Vikings volleyball game at Charlo High School’s gymnasium.
Arlee: The JV football game between Charlo and Arlee was cancelled with no rescheduled date at this time.
The Warriors, Scarlets Junior High Cross country and football practice were cancelled. The Arlee High School volleyball and footbal team will continue to practice.
Mission: The Mission JV High School football team’s game with the Hot Spring’s JV football as scheduled, according to Bulldogs’ Athletic Director Jacob Bosley. The Bulldogs will play Hot Springs at 7 p.m. Friday night at Hot Springs.
Polson: The Polson Pirates football team’s game was cancelled No. 3 ranked Corvallis at 7 p.m. Friday night in Corvallis.
The game is tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Corvallis. According to Pirates athletic director Jay Krantz, if Polson isn’t able to play in Corvallis they will play the game in Butte at the same scheduled time they tenatively have to play at Corvallis on Saturday.
“It is still up in the air (of where and when) we are going to play (at this time),” Krantz said.
The Pirates boys, girls team will travel to Laurel Friday at 3 p.m. (girls) and 5 p.m. (boys) at Laurel High School.
The two Polson Pirate soccer games that were scheduled in Polson at 10 a.m. (girls) and 12 p.m. (boys) Saturday changed locations. The two soccer teams will travel to play Billings Central at Billings at 10 a.m. Saturday (girls) and 12 p.m. (boys) at Billings Central High School.
The Polson cross country team will go to the Bozeman Invitational instead of the Spokane Invitational.
The Bozeman Invitational will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday for the varsity girls and 6:30 p.m. for the varsity boys runners.
The Polson Invitational golf meet will be scheduled Monday at 1 p.m. at Mission Bay Golf Course. The Invitational was originally scheduled for last Wednesday at Mission Bay.
Ronan: The Ronan High School varsity football team’s contest versus Stevensville at 7 p.m. Friday was postponed. The Chiefs will play Stevi at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at Stevensville High School.
The Chiefs’ JV football team will start its game at the regularly-schedule time. The Ronan JV will play Stevi at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Stevensville but will be limited to two quarters, according to Ronan Athletic Director Lucky Larson.
The Chiefs, Maidens cross country meet, which was originally scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Rebecca Farms in Kalispell, was cancelled with no makeup date scheduled.
