Ronan PD partners with Child Safety Council
The Ronan Police Department has announced that it will be teaming up with the National Child Safety Council.
“It’s a worthwhile program benefitting our seniors and children” which are the most vulnerable groups, Ronan Police Chief Kenneth Weaver said Tuesday afternoon.
Through the program, the department will be able to provide materials on drug and crime prevention, according to a press release.
“(The National Child Safety Council) has quite a bit of literature that is age-specific to children and seniors that makes it fun and entertaining,” Weaver said, adding that the non profit has found ways to make learning about identity theft and safety information appealing.
Weaver explained that the organization reached out to other agencies in the county who suggested officials approach Ronan.
The press release stated that the department will be contacting “concerned business and professional leaders to help financially sponsor” the program.
Letters are sent on a Ronan Police Department letterhead, Weaver confirmed.
