An investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office led to the apprehension of Richard Anthony Davis, 29, in Ronan last week, according to a press release from Lake County Sheriff Don Bell.
Davis, a conditional release absconder, was on conditional release for prior drug offenses and attempted escape, eluding law enforcement “for weeks,” Bell stated.
Davis fled the scene of a vehicle crash in Pablo in mid-March.
He was also suspected of driving a stolen vehicle and leading a pursuit in late March, later fleeing on foot.
Bell said “surveillance on a location where intelligence suggested he would be” was set up on Wednesday, April 4, leading to Davis’s arrest.
On Thursday, April 5 during “a parallel investigation involving Davis,” two residential search warrants were executed, Bell said.
The first warrant took place in Polson, with the assistance of the Polson Police Department.
Fawn Cain of Polson was arrested on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, while two others were cited for drug possession.
A gun was also seized along with other stolen property from recent burglaries at Linderman Elementary School and a Polson business.
The second search warrant was executed in Pablo with the assistance of Tribal Police. Drugs and paraphernalia were located, and a further investigation is underway.
