A woman involved in a high speed chase in December was back in court last week to enter a change of plea.

Alta Littlelight-Threefingers, 34, of Hardin, entered a guilty plea for a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon after admitting to District Judge James A. Manley she fired a weapon at a county law enforcement officer on Dec. 6.

She is expected to be back in court on May 16 for sentencing.

Littlelight-Threefingers has been housed at the Lake County Jail.

Lake County Attorney Steven Eschenbacher explained to Manley that investigators have been unable to find gun powder residue in the vehicle, thus unable to prove a weapon was fired.

According to court documents, the Missoula Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a black Ford Taurus for reckless driving in a residential neighborhood.

Littlelight-Threefingers and Roishell St. Dennis were both occupants of the vehicle, which was determined to have been stolen out of Billings in November.

Littlelight-Threefingers, the driver, fled from the officer, heading toward Lake County on U.S. Highway 93 northbound, reaching speeds of 85-90 mph.

Attempts to stop the fleeing car were unsuccessful.

Once in Lake County, Littlelight-Threefingers turned onto a gravel side road, heading eastward just north of St. Ignatius.

In the Ninepipes area, it was believed that the women shot at both Flathead Tribal Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Office personnel.

The pursuit ended when law enforcement returned fire and the women surrendered.

St. Dennis, 28, of Missoula, entered a guilty plea on Wednesday, March 28 for one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon. She is due back in court for sentencing on May 2.

St. Dennis is at the Sanders County Jail.
