Davis costume contest champ
Jackson Davis of Ronan has a knack for coming up with prize-winning costumes for the Lake County 4-H Fair.
Davis topped two other competitors in the Project Costume Contest held Friday afternoon at the fairgrounds in Ronan. This year, he dressed himself in a Superman costume. With help from his mom, Jennifer, he tailored a Batman outfit to fit his fair-showing sheep, Storm.
“It was his idea,” Jennifer said of Jackson’s costume choice. His entry was titled, “Superman vs. Batman.” All About Superheroes was the theme of this year’s fair.
Friday’s win was his second in the last three years of the county fair. He finished first in 2016, and was runner-up in 2017. He was awarded a $25 check by the Lake County Fair Board.
Hayley Bergh was second in the judges’ voting, dressed as Batgirl and flanked by her Batman-clothed sheep.
Sierry Symington, “The Greatest Showman,” finished third. Her and her sheep were appropriately dressed to match costumes in the movie.
