Classes for the Polson, Ronan and Pablo spring Hunter Education courses will begin Tuesday, Feb. 27 in Room 118 of the Beaverhead Math and Science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo.
All classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m., and are free of charge.
Those interested are required to register online at fwp.mt.gov prior to the classes. A parent or guardian must accompany students under the age of 18 to the first class.
Student course manuals with instructions are available for pickup at: Ronan Sports and Western, 63298 U.S. Highway 93; Murdoch’s Ranch and Supply, 170 Heritage Lane; Walmart, 36318 Memory Lane, Polson; and the Tribal License Office, 406 Sixth Ave. East, Polson.
The manuals must be read and all questions answered at the end of each chapter before the first class on Feb. 27.
Individuals 10 years and older may be certified upon successfully completing the course. Those born after Jan. 1, 1985 must complete a hunter education course before buying a hunting license in Montana.
Firearms and ammunition are provided. Do not bring either to the classes or to Field Day.
