Alice Marie Estes

| January 12, 2018 12:58 PM

Alice Marie Estes, 90, was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1927 (3/17/1927). Her Certificate of Baptism (St. John the Baptist Church, Manchester, New Hampshire) states that three days later she was christened “Marie Rosemonde Albertine Martel”. She died of natural causes on December 31, 2017 at Polson EmpRes Health and Rehabilitation in Polson.

Alice worked very hard at various jobs in California and New Hampshire throughout her life to raise her four daughters by herself. She was very proud of this accomplishment. When she finally retired she had been a chef for many years for the Concord NH Community Based Care Services Meals on Wheels program.

Alice loved to drive, a lot, and with no particular destination in mind (just for the love of the journey). She loved to garden and she took great pride in her large yard and keeping it looking great. Her children have fond memories of the vegetable and flower gardens she grew in California. Alice was also an accomplished quilter and gifted her family with many beautiful quilts, all completely hand stitched with love. Alice’s greatest love though was for her family. She loved all of them dearly and liked nothing better than going to family gatherings where she could catch up with relatives and acquaintances or play with her grandchildren when they were young.

Alice was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Emma and Edgar Thibodeau, Merrimack, New Hampshire, and two brothers, Louis and Norman Peppin and a beloved granddaughter, Megan Pauly.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Budd) Cobb, Polson; Bonnie Catoni, Las Vegas; Pauline (Richard) Kinduris, Goffstown, New Hampshire and Sally (John) Clark, Las Vegas; grandchildren Mona (Dave) Bick, Polson; Brian Ayersman (Jen), Polson; Jonathan Ayersman, Oceanside, California; Heather Brown, Las Vegas; Jason Pauly, Hemet, California; Joe Kinduris, Goffstown, New Hampshire, and Brenna and Ryann Clark, Las Vegas; nine great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Rest in peace little Marie Rosemonde Albertine.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. The family requests that any donations in Alice’s memory be made to the charity of their choice. Alice’s family is especially grateful to all of the staff at Polson EmpRes Health and Rehabilitation who cared for her so well, so kindly and so lovingly. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family at www.thelakefuneralhomeandcrematory.com.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
