Two snowboarders died in separate incidents in Flathead County on Saturday, Dec. 30, with one near Blacktail Mountain and the other at Whitefish Mountain Resort.
According Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry, the first incident occurred off Blacktail Road in Lakeside, out of bounds and some distance from Blacktail Mountain Ski Area.
The victim was reportedly snowboarding with a friend when he intentionally attempted a jump off a cliff. Curry said he was pronounced dead on the scene from blunt force trauma.
