Vernon Greene

Vernon F. Greene, 84, of Silverton, Ore., passed on Friday, July 6, 2018.

He was born in Paradise, Mont., on Nov. 18, 1933 to Harry and Iwilder Greene. Vernon went to Paradise Grade School, and graduated from the 12th grade from Plains High School in Plains, Mont.

Vernon has been a member of the LDS Church for several years.

He worked in the fields around Paradise helping Mr. Williams, and did many odd jobs around the surrounding area. He also worked in an auto assembly plant in Fremont, Calif. His last job was at Woodburn High School for 10 1/2 years. He loved helping out the kids at the school.

Vernon loved working with wood and making wooden animals, bird houses, spice racks and shelving units, which he was able to sell to Micheal’s.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry Greene and Edward Greene; sister, Agnus Wright; and nephew, Richard Greene.

He is survived by two sisters, Viola I. Jackson and Edith Mae Bikle, both of Silverton. He is also survived by nieces Tina Everett, Merrie Lwynn Kelly and Wendy Wright; and nephews Ken Jackson, Robert Greene, Darren Greene, Brian Greene, Shawn Wright, Jerry Greene, Joey Greene, Jamie Greene and Jody Greene. He is also survived by many great and great-great nephews and nieces.

He is loved and will be greatly missed.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Plains Cemetery in Plains. Assisting the family is Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.
