Charlo man jailed after being arrested twice in week
A Charlo man is in jail after he led law enforcement on a chase earlier this month, according to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell.
James Roylance, 56, was arrested after it was reported that on Saturday, June 9, he was driving recklessly in the Charlo area and also allegedly threated two females in Charlo with a machete-type knife, Bell stated in a press release.
Roylance also “purposely rammed into multiple vehicles,” Bell said.
Sheriff’s deputies located Roylance, and a pursuit ensued which led into an alfalfa field near Hall Road.
A deputy shot Roylance’s rear tires out “to keep him within the field and to prevent further threats to public safety,” Bell said.
Deputies were able to use their patrol vehicles to pin Roylance up against a fence and apprehend him.
Bell also stated that three days prior on Wednesday, June 6, “Roylance was the subject of non-violent criminal complaints in and around Charlo.”
Roylance was located by a deputy and a short pursuit ensued. Once Roylance was apprehended, he was placed in the Lake County Jail on traffic and misdemeanor criminal charges and later released after a court appearance.
More information was not immediately available at presstime Tuesday.
