There were no life-threatening injuries following a crash in Pablo last week.

According to Montana State Highway Patrol Trooper Wayne Bieber, Earl Hanneman, of Polson, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 93 on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

He was turning left at the intersection of Division Street when he was struck by a Dodge pickup truck.

Bieber said that according to witnesses, Hanneman was ejected from his Mazda van due to not wearing a seatbelt.

Hanneman’s van ended up on the shoulder of the road, where he landed before the vehicle came to rest on the highway, Bieber said, and the truck ran off the highway and into a nearby field.

Hanneman was the only person in the van, and there were two occupants in the truck.

All three victims were taken to St. Luke Community Healthcare in Ronan. Bieber said the truck occupants were released, while Hanneman stayed at the hospital.

Hanneman suffered broken ribs, a fractured arm and concussion.

Bieber said that drugs, alcohol and speed were not believed to be a factor.

As a result of the crash, Hanneman was issued citations, Bieber confirmed.

Assisting MHP at the scene were Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Polson Ambulance, Ronan Ambulance and Flathead Lake Tribal officers.
