Scarlets, Warriors' track team emerges at Seeley-Swan qualifier

The Arlee Scarlets and Warriors’ track teams developed some outstanding individual performers at the Seeley-Swan qualifier Saturday at Frenchtown High School.

Both teams had members of their talented track squad emerge at the qualifier to snag top-five finishes.

The Scarlets’ Malachi DeRoche set a personal record in the 200-meter run for tenth place recording a time of 35.18 seconds and Warriors’ distance-runner Colt Crawford emerged as a top-five finisher, placing third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12 minutes, 9.85 seconds.

Arlee Scarlet Shawntaya Nelson captured first-place in the 3,200 with a time of 14 minutes, 35.76 seconds. Nelson also finished second in the pole vault clearing a distance of 7 feet, 6 inches.

Thrower Peyton Lammerding continues to steadily improve at the conclusion of each meet. Lammerding finished third in the shot put with a throw of 32 feet, 10.50 inches and fourth in discus recording a throw of 96 feet, 7.50 inches.

The Warriors 4x100 relay team that consists of Colt Crawford, CJ Forgey, Jason Miller and Skyler Titsworth finished third in the 4X400 with a time of 4 minutes, 1.42 seconds.

Mikayla Rieken finished fourth in the high jump with a distance of 4 feet, 8 inches as a part of the key highlights for the Warriors and Scarlets in one of the most competitive regular season track meets in MHSA Class C in the region.
