Warriors, Scarlets have strong showing at Districts

The Arlee Scarlets continue to have more participants emerge in the top five with each passing week.

Shawntaya Nelson finished first in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 14 minutes, 1.61 seconds at the Western Class 14-C race Saturday at Big Sky High School.

Nelson had two first-place finishes at Bigfork. Nelson cleared a distance of 8 feet, 9 inches in pole vault, setting a personal record.

Scarlet’s thrower Peyton Lammerding continues to improve on her throws with each passing meet and the Bigfork Invite was no exception.

Lammerding finished second in the discus with a throw of 97 feet, 3.25 inches.

Saige Koetter finished fourth in the long jump recording a distance of 13 feet, 4.50 inches and Mikayla Rieken finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 29 feet, 3.50 inches.

Warriors boast of top-five finishers

The Arlee High School boy’s track team has individual participants starting to emerge in the top five at the Bigfork Invitational.

Colt Crawford and Jason Miller both finished in the top-five in the 400-meter dash. Crawford recorded a personal record with a time of 58.73 seconds to finish in fourth and Miller finished fifth recording a time of 59.98 seconds.

Crawford also showcased his ability as a distance runner with a personal record of 11 minutes, 36.47 seconds and finished third in the 3,200-meter run.

In addition to distance runners and speedsters, the Warriors have also showcased several throwers. Sam Fowler finished fifth in the shot put recording a personal record of 33 feet, 9 inches.
