Pirates, Lady Pirates track shine at Western Divisionals

Polson High School distance runner Bea Frissell continues to build upon her growing reputation as one of the top distance runners in the state of Montana.

Just like last season, Frissell will get a chance to gun for Montana Activities Association State hardware at the Montana State High School Activities Association Class A and C track meet May 25-26 at Laurel High School.

Frissell captured first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 23.55 seconds and the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 23.55 seconds.

Other performers in the 1,600-meter dash include Molly Sitter, who finished seventh with a time of 5 minutes, 31.89 seconds and Naima Crowl placed ninth with a time of 5 minutes, 37.67 seconds.

Pirates runner Molly Sitter finished 8th in the 800-meter with a time of 2 minutes, 28.95 seconds.

Mikaela DuCharme placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.43 seconds.

Frissell’s teammate Naima Crowl placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run recording a time of 12 minutes, 12.07 seconds.

Shayla Olson placed ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.37 seconds and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.04 seconds.

Olson was a member of the 4X100 relay team that placed sixth recording a time of 53.01 seconds. The relay team included DuCharme, Olson and JaNessa Taylor.

DuCharme finished first in the triple jump recording a distance of 33 feet, 10. 5 inches and first in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 1 inches.

Kyla Blixt finished 13th in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 8.25 inches and finished 16th in the discus recording a personal best with a throw of 91 feet, 11 inches.

Lady Pirates Karly Lawson placed ninth in the javelin with a throw of 142 feet, 8 inches.

Pirates excel at Divisionals

The Polson Pirates showcased their ability of speed and distance in the Western Divisional May 18-19 at Polson High School.

Polson’s Trenton Adler got a chance to showcase his athletic prowess with three top-three finishes at track.

Adler finished second in the 100-meter dash with a personal record of 11.22 seconds, third in the 100-meter with a personal record time of 22.72 seconds and was a member of the 4X100 relay team that also finished third.

The relay team included Colton Cote, Dugan Davis, Kyle Druyvestein, and Adler.

Colton Cote finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.51 seconds, third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.76 seconds and third in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 40.76 seconds.

Quin Stewart placed first, second and third in three individual events at Divisionals. Stewart finished first in the 800-meter run recording a personal record with a time of 1 minute, 58.33 seconds and third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 49.08 seconds.

Chiefs, Maidens qualify for state

Kinsely Barney showcased her speed and finished third recording a time of 13.06 second in the 100-meter dash. Barney also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.41 seconds.

Chiefs’ James Normandeau also qualified in the 800-meter run, recording a time of 2 minutes, 2.91 seconds and in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 40.63 seconds.
