Polson police, law enforcement stop mobile drug shop
Local law enforcement carried out a drug raid last week at the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino parking lot following an investigation.
According to Polson Police Department Sgt. George Simpson, the department received information on Oct. 23 that individuals from out of state were coming to the Polson area to sell drugs.
Natasha Davis and Jesse Arthur or Washington were arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers discovered that Davis and Arthur were using a resort room as a “store front” for possibly selling illegal drugs, Simpson stated, which led officers to obtain a search warrant for the room and the suspects’ vehicle.
Items including roughly 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, five grams of heroin, a fake ID, drug paraphernalia, cash and gift cards were discovered, Simpson said.
Polson Police Chief Wade Nash stated that the raid was a “quick and calibrated effort” to stop the suspected drug market.
Flathead Tribal Police, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol assisted in the raid.
