Lake County volleyball players accentuated with bevy of athletic accolades

Mission Valley prep volleyball had 11 area players who received postseason recognition for their athletic aptitude on the court this past fall.

Conferred with the highest among those accolades was Charlo Lady Viking Kaitlin Cox, who received all-state recognition. Cox was equally adept at being as disruptive for opponents on offense as she was on defense, spiking kills in the mid-300s range at a mid-teen per game average while scooping out defensive digs at a double-digit average per game. She also rocked the service line with more than 50 aces. This trifecta of trepidation she inflicted upon opposing teams likewise earned her a concomitant all-conference first-team nod, her third in as many seasons along with her second all-state acknowledgement. Cox also holds all-state credentials in basketball as well as track.

Joining Cox with first-team accolades are Arlee Scarlet libero Emily Fiddler, and Mission Lady Bulldog Karolyna Buck.

All-conference second-team accolades were conferred upon a quartet of area seniors. Charlo Lady Vikinig Teaira Truman set the table for her fellow spikers with sets assists well into the mid-600 range based on projections using per game averages for missing game coverage. She also contributed multiple dozen service aces. Arlee Scarlet middle hitter Nellie Desjarlais likewise was a second-team recipient as was Mission Lady Bulldog Caitlyn Sorrell. Polson Lady Pirate Mikaela DuCharme rounded out the second-team honors. DuCharme led the Lady Pirates in spikes as well as blocks during regular format games and generated second leading kills during tournaments.

Another area quartet receiving honorable mention include Ronan Maidens Tiana Ulutoa along with Madeline McCrea, Arlee Scarlett Louetta Conko-Camel and Charlo Lady Viking Allie Delaney. This was the third all-conference nod for Delaney in as many seasons. This was the second honorable mention for both Ulutoa and McCrea.
