The Ronan High School football team couldn’t build on its momentum after its huge conference victory against Mission Valley rival Polson in their 39-7 loss Friday night at Whitefish.

Eric Dolence continues to showcase his athletic versatility as a dual-threat quarterback in spite of the loss. Dolence had 96 passing yards and 51 rushing yards to lead the Chiefs (1-4) in offensive production.

Dolence accounted for the majority of the team’s yards generated during the game.

Down 33-0 in the game, Dolence connected with Kane McAllister on a 30-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs will travel to the defending Class A champion Columbia Falls at 7 p.m. Friday.
