Polson Library hosting variety of events during October

October came barreling in this year at the library. We have had a lot going on and even more to come this fall.

This month we are celebrating the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read in partnership with Missoula Public Library.

On Thursday, Oct. 18 th at 6 p.m. join us in our meeting room as we welcome Stefanie Nordberg with Polson Geocachers. She will talk about what geocaching is and will give you the

tools to start your own geocaching quest.

The theme for the Thursday, Oct. 25 story time is “On the Yellow Brick Road.” Join Kendra at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a scavenger hunt around the library as well as an introduction to pathfinding skills, a reading walk, and a fun craft.

Tuesdays in October at 2 p.m. in the library atrium, we will host “Learn to Knit” sessions with volunteer Linda Kittle. If you have always wanted to learn to knit, this is for you. We will provide the needles and

yarn for practice. Angela will have the tea kettle on and a selection of tea will be provided.

On Saturday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m., the Library will once again participate in International Observe the Moon Night. This year we welcome Loren Spencer, a Computational Physics student at the University of Montana, who will talk about NASA’s Juno mission to Jupiter. This program is for all ages and is sponsored by our NASA@ My Library grant.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30th at 2 p.m., Heather will teach a class called “Google Drive & the Cloud.” This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

A big “thank you” to our Friends of the Library for providing adjustable height desk stands for the staff.

We are so grateful to them for their support of the library and its employees.

Be sure to bring the kids by on Halloween for trick-or-treating at the Library. We will have candy until it is gone.

The Library is open 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.
