Sharon Andrews
Sharon Kay Andrews (neé Chirstensen) was born Aug.15, 1940 in Plentywood, Mont. In her youth, she and her parents, Ed and Flora Christensen, and her siblings Mary, Frank, Joann, and Kaaren followed the work around Montana, Idaho and Washington before finally settling in Kalispell, Mont.
In Kalispell, Sheri met the man she would eventually spend her life with, Don Andrews, but not before she had her fair share of adventures.
Leaving Kalispell as soon as she graduated high school, Sheri headed to California where she worked for the U.S. Air Force. Sheri’s fierce spirit and sense of adventure took her all over the country and she lived, at various times, in California, Nevada, Alaska and Kansas before coming back to Kalispell in the late 1960s.
She was set up on a date with an old classmate, Don, by his mother Ellen Andrews. Sheri, ever the immaculate dresser, wore gold-sequined stirrup pants on that first date and Don fell in love at first sight. They were married in 1968 and lived a life together that was punctuated with joy, love, and laughter — from international travels to local bowling leagues to quiet evenings at home putting too many logs in the fire.
Through good times and bad Sheri’s infallible sense of humor and quick wit elevated anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, right up until the very end. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 4, 2018.
Sheri was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents Ed and Flora; and her siblings, Frank, Joann, and Mary. She is survived by her children ReeAnn Johnson, Diana Mcaleavey, Kevin Andrews, and Rachel Andrews-Gould. There was be a celebration of life for Don and Sheri on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 in St. Ignatius. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations of lightly used mobility aids to the Don and Sheri Andrews Borrowing Closet at the Army Legion in St. Ignatius, Mont., or monetary donations to your local animal shelters.
