Mission Valley harriers soar at T-Falls Invite

At Thompson Falls last Thursday, a pair of Mission Valley area runners took first-place honors with 11 finishing among the top 25 at the River’s Bend Golf Course at Thompson Falls. For the lads, James Normandeau of Ronan led the pack that included only a quartet who turned in sub-17-minute times. Other top 25 finishers included Polson Pirates Mason Sloan and Quin Stewart, Ronan Chiefs Brant Heiner and Micheal Irvine, and Charlo Viking Wills Degrandpre.

For the lassies, defending state A champion Bea Frissell of Polson took top honors with the only sub-20 among the field that included top 25 finishes from teammates Molly Sitter and Gwen Seeley, Ronan Maiden Analeta YellowBird, and Mission Lady Bulldog Karolyna Buck.

All area teams are slated to compete at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula this weekend, while Arlee will host Charlo among others on the preceding Tuesday for the Fish Hatchery Challenge, while Ronan will simultaneously compete at the Whitefish Invitational.
