THERE WAS orange everywhere during the First Responders Appreciation Lunch last Saturday in Polson. Many of the 40 first responders on the Lake County roster, led by Jared and Jamie Bell, helped by cooking and serving food to everyone who attended. At the T-shirt at left says, “Making a Difference” is what LC Search and Rescue is all about. (Joe Sova photos/Lake County Leader)

THE BIRTHDAY wish of 12-year-old Charlotte Kinnamon came true when she was the guest at a surprise party last Saturday, March 30. The event was the First Responders Appreciation Lunch at the Lake County Search and Rescue building on Main Street in Polson. Charlotte even got to wear Montana Highway Patrol Trooper James Hawkins’ duty vest and hat while sitting in a MHP car.

ONE-YEAR-OLD PAXTON Bell, above, was elated when he got to touch one of the balloons flying during the First Responders Appreciation Lunch on Saturday, March 30 in Polson. Paxton is held by his grandmother Valerie Bell, the wife of Sheriff Don Bell. At right are some of the posters made by local students in support of all types of law enforcement and emergency personnel.
