Polson's Frissell dominates Kalispell Time Trials Invite

Polson High School runner Bea Frissell has become the most decorated and accomplished student-athlete at the high school.

Frissell, who has both academic, and athletic scholarship offers on deck for her future, continues to stockpile accolades, and at the Kalispell, Time Trial Invite she made another declarative statement with her times Tuesday afternoon in Kalispell.

Frissell not only finished first but the now Lady Pirates senior, defeated her competition convincingly.

Frissell, captured first-place in both distance events, recording a time of 5 minutes, 27.79 seconds in the 1,600-meter run, and 11:24.59 seconds, in the 3,200-meter race.

Flathead High School competitor Saide Wilson, who recorded a time of 5 minutes, 45.44 seconds, and Anya Young, filed a second-place time of 12 minutes, 30.23 seconds, over a minute behind Frissell’s mark.

Lawson captures first in throwing event

Polson High School student Karly Lawson, a recent transfer from Hot Springs, finished in the top-10 in the javelin.

Lawson recorded a throw of 84 feet, 4 inches, to finish seventh. Mikaela Ducharme finished in the long jump with 16 feet, a second-place finish.

Goode showcases

his athleticism

Polson High School athlete Boston Goode became known for being the Pirates’ quarterback after the Polson football team was ravaged with an injury during the fall of 2018.

As the Pirates’ quarterback, Goode got to display the athleticism that allowed him to make several plays on the gridiron, and that athleticism is on full display on the track field this spring.

Goode has become one of the top performing track athletes for the Pirates this season. Goode continued to display his athleticism at the Kalispell Time Trial Invite Tuesday afternoon in Kalispell.

Goode finished fourth both the 400-meter dashes in Kalispell, and MCPS Invite Saturday. Goode recorded times of 54.64 seconds, and 52.86 seconds, a personal record.

Goode was also a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 track team, who finished ninth, and tenth in at the MCPS Invite. Other members of the teams included Dugan Davis, Alex Wall-Wilbert, and Parker Toth, on the 4x100, and Quin Stewart, Dugan Davis, and Alex Wall-Wilbert in the 4x400.

The 4x100 team recorded a time of 46.19 seconds, and 4x400 finished with a time of 3 minutes, 45.35 seconds.

Ryker Wenderoth finished in fifth-place in the triple jump clearing a distance of 34 feet, 11 inches, a personal-record.

Wenderoth, one of the key components of the Polson Pirates’ football team, showcased his athletic versatility this Saturday.

Wenderother, along with the rest of the Polson competitors, have continued to battle the elements, to begin their track season strong.

The Pirates next competition will be Thursday, April 18, when they travel to Corvallis to take part in the Twilight Invitational in Corvallis.

DuCharme shines in distance events

Polson High School runner Jonah DuCharme finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run recording a time of 10 minutes, 48.70 seconds.
