Vanderburg signs with Rocky
Arlee Scarlet basketball standout Alyssia Vanderburg will extend her athletic carrier at the collegiate level playing women’s basketball for Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
Vanderburg signed her Letter of Intent for this fall.
Vanderburg scored over 500 points and pulled down more than 200 rebounds each of the past two seasons. She tallied greater than 1800 points, 800 rebounds along with more than a century worth of steals and blocks over the course of her prep career.
Among her scoring prowess was included dialing the operator long distance and completing the call from beyond the arc for 92 three-pointers. Her offseason tournament participation pushes her overall scoring tally well beyond the Y2K threshold.
She joins recent signees Makenna Liles of Florence and Lauren Ryter of Hamilton.
Over the past few seasons, Vanderburg has led Arlee to multiple Divisionsal, and state apperances, as she continued to become one of the premier players in Montana High School Association Class C.
Vanderburg also gained additional exposure playing on several AAU basketball teams across the country, and this exposure allowed her to be recruited by multiple colleges, who competed for her services.
Vanderburg has become a well-known basketball in the Mission Valley, appearing in several 3-on-3 tournaments, and continues to light up the stats sheet as one of one of the premier players in MHSA Class C girls basketball.
Vanderburg, will now compete in the NAIA Pioneer League, one of the most difficult conference in NAIA basketball in the entire country. Many teams in the conference have gone onto play in the NAIA National Tournament.
With Vanderburg Rocky hopes to compete with the elite teams in the conference such as Carroll, and Western.
