It’s time for the annual Clean Up! Green Up! event in Polson, on tap Friday through Sunday, May 3-5. Cherry Valley students get an early start by picking up trash around their school. The community-wide event encourages everyone to volunteer in cleaning up local streets and highways.

Headquarters at the North Lake County Library Atrium Room are open Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers can pick up gloves, trash bags, orange vests and assignment areas for clean-up. The Envision Polson! Beautification Committee will be staffing the office and serving refreshments.

Republic Service is providing a big dumpster across the street from the library for trash pick-up disposal from the streets and roads clean-up. Please — no household garbage!

Other clean-up activities include:

- On May 6 the City of Polson is providing curbside free pick up of leaves and branches, starting at 8 a.m. Use biodegradable leaf sacks only and please no garbage!

- On May 17 is Glacier Bank Shred Day. The main branch at 50510 Highway 93 will accept two boxes per person for free shredding.

- On May 18 is Electronic Waste Day at the Transfer Station. They will accept TV & flat screen computer monitors, copiers, cell phones, printers, cords, other electronic waste from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

- Tracy Burland of Tracy’s Auto & Marine will pay $50 per abandoned or junked vehicle and haul it away. Call 406-261-6592 for date and time.

The Beautification Committee thanks the sponsors, Envision Polson! Beautification Committee, City of Polson, Polson Chamber of Commerce and Republic Service.
