Marine Corps League thanks county citizens for their support

| December 19, 2019 4:35 PM

The officers and members of the Marine Corps League Hellroaring Detachment 1041 would like to say thanks to all the citizens of our communities throughout Lake County for all your support this past year.

The detachment supplied U.S. flags for the cemetery again this year but funds for the Fly ’em High Program are getting low and the need for more flags will have to be purchased for 2020.

If you wish to donate to this fund it is $60 per flag (tax deductible) and you can have your donation listed as a supporter, in memory of, on behalf of, which a brass plate will be mounted to the memorial in front of the star in the Veterans circle.

For more information contact John Miller at 890-0964.

We were able to assist two high school students with $500 scholarships checks each. The recipients were Kyla Blixt of Polson attending West Point and Teaira Truman of Charlo attending Eastern Washington.

The 2019-2020 Scholarship packets are in the schools now or you can call John Miller at 890-0964 and one will be sent via email. Seniors don’t wait start filling them out now.

Congratulations to the detachments raffle winners. The spring recipients were Jacob Ricciardi, Ron Duncan and Harlan Fahlgren with the fall raffle winners being Charles Baty, Todd Lux and Larry Beaman. The raffles this year were very successful due to all who purchased tickets and supported our programs.
