Marjorie (Margie) Gayle Brewster passed away at home on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Margie was born May 23, 1937, in Boonville, Calif., and graduated from St. Rose Academy in San Francisco. She married Stephen Brewster in 1955 and had four children: Stephanie, Sharon, Stephen Jr. and Scott. Stephen was in the Coast Guard and they were stationed on the lighthouse on Alcatraz Island when it was still a prison, the Farallon Islands, Virginia, Puerto Rico and California. They later divorced.

Margie loved sports, especially the SF 49ers and SF Giants. One of her favorite events was when she and her son Stephen went to Super Bowl XVI in Michigan, where the 49ers won their first Super Bowl. Another treasured life event was when Margie and her only grandchild Carson went to San Francisco in August 2017 and attended a SF Giants game.

Margie was preceded in death by her infant son, Scott; sister and best friend, Dorothy Hourican; and her parents, James Hill and Olga Tovani Hill. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Brewster, Sharon McDaniel and Stephen Brewster Jr,, and her grandson Carson McDaniel, who was light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings Douglas Hill, Rose Tovani, Clarice Tovani and Patty Prather; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Margie had an infectious laugh, kind heart, and generous spirit. She will be missed by all. A celebration of Margie’s life will be held at a later date.
