Wilda McKnight

Wilda Aladean McKnight, 80, passed away in her home in Arlee. She was born on Jan. 27, 1939, to Wilda and Glen Gasser of Ronan.

She had her son, Donald Grant, in 1956. Wilda moved to California in 1960 were she met her husband, Emory Gene McKnight. They were married on March 17, 1962. Wilda and Gene moved to Arlee in 1969, were they built a home and ranch. They loved to farm and enjoyed the area for many years until Gene’s death in 1999. Wilda continued to farm in Arlee until falling ill. She loved playing bingo with her sister, Marty Shepard, and looked forward to her trips to the casino in Worley, Idaho. She spent many years bowling with her sisters and husband.

Wilda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Wilda and Glenn Gasser; husband, Gene McKnight; sister, Lynda Schlemmer; and brothers, Patrick and Jay Gasser.

She is survived by her son, Donald Grant and two grandchildren, Thersa (Matt) Brown and David Grant; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Tyler Tucker and Kinsley Brown, Kaidyn, Brooklynn, Micah, Asher and Kaycen Grant; brothers, Glen Gasser, Ben (Odette) Gasser, Denny (Karyl) Gasser and Jerry Gasser; sisters, Marty (Jerry) Shepard, Joy (Lloyde) Eckley and Cindy (Dan) Brennan; and many nephews and nieces.

Her services will be announced and held in the springtime.
