ALTHEA CHESARU, 5, wears flowers in her hair during the Winter Fiesta benefit at the Polson Elks Lodge last Saturday evening. Her 6-month-old brother Evren is mesmerized by Althea and the flowers. The Winter Fiesta, in its 10th year, was a benefit to celebrate more than 89,000 meals served at the Soup’s On and Family Table in Polson. Soup’s On is featured each Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wander Inn, at 101 7th Ave. W. in Polson. (Joe Sova photos/Lake County Leader)

ARLENE EKLAND-EARNST tries on a sombrero that was a silent auction item during the Winter Fiesta benefit last Saturday night at the Polson Elks Lodge. Turns out the hat doesn’t have a hole for your head, so it serves a decorative function.

Evans said Soup’s On is a community-wide volunteer effort, and $6,500 was raised for the program and about 80 people attended the Winter Fiesta.
