| January 31, 2019 7:04 PM

Rolf Leonard Harmsen, 64, of Polson, Mont., passed away Jan. 18 2019.

Rolf was born on Feb. 18, 1954, to Adele Walenciak and Rolf Harmsen in Missoula, Mont. He graduated from Golden West College with a Liberal Arts degree and later went on to work for McDonald Douglas Aerospace. He moved back to Montana in 1986 with his wife Janet and their children, Jennie and Dominic. Rolf worked for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes as a road inspector and later went on to build his own business as an independent insurance agent.

Rolf had a passion for music and was a die-hard Lakers and Dodgers super fan. He loved his children and Christ, above all else.

Rolf is preceded in death by his mother Adele Walenciak; brother, Hal Harmsen; and life partner, Janet Harmsen.

He is survived by his children and siblings, Jennie Belcourt, Kelleen Harmsen, Emily Harmsen, Katherine Harmsen, and Rolf Harmsen, Robin Wallace, Sheryl Harmsen, and Sally Lemmon. Rolf also leaves behind grandchildren, Dalton Belcourt, Payden Belcourt, Colton Belcourt, Carson Stark, Brayden Stark, BellaRose Medina, Mary Medina; and great granddaughter, Aubrey Belcourt.

We will deeply miss our number-one cheerleader and biggest fan.

A funeral service was held last week for Rolf. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.thelakefuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Arrangements are under the care of The Lake Funeral Home.
