An 84-year old man using his golf cart to retrieve his mail was struck and killed on Logan Road near Charlo Tuesday afternoon, July 16.

Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Noah Pesola reported that a 2008 Honda Accord was travelling north on Logan Road when it struck the golf cart. The cart driver was declared deceased at the scene.

No names had been released at press time. Speed is a suspected factor in the accident. Whether alcohol or drugs were involved was unknown and is under investigation.

A two-vehicle accident on Monday at the intersection of Highways 93 and 35 in Polson resulted in one person being transported to St. Joseph Hospital.

MHP reports that a 2013 Subaru Outback apparently turned left from Highway 93 toward 35 on a red arrow and was struck by a 1995 Honda Odyssey traveling north through a green light on 93. The 85-year-old male driver of the Subaru was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
