2nd Chance Saloon is 1st at St. Patrick's Day Parade
Graced by a beautiful, sunny late-winter day, the Ronan Irish Community — known as TRIC — held their 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the holiday, Sunday, March 17 on Main Street in Ronan. The parade marked three decades of color and pageantry for the event to celebrate the Irish holiday.
The 2nd Chance Saloon entry was voted by the judges as the Best Overall Float. Pheasant Lounge took awards in four categories, including Most Likely to Riot.
Here are the division winners for the parade:
Best Kids Float – Goats. Greenest – Templer Family. Best Walkers – Pheasant Lounge. Best 1st Timers – Goats. Most Irish – Bagpipers Most Likely to Spend the Night in Jail – Pheasant Lounge. Best Irish Animals – St. Bernards. Most Shamrocks – Pheasant Lounge. Family Wars – Templer Family. Most Likely to Riot – Pheasant Lounge. Best Overall Float – 2nd Chance Saloon.
“We would like to thank all the 30th year annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade participants, judges and spectactors,” said TRIC spokeswoman Carlene Bockman. “Thank you again for taking the time on a beautiful day to participate in this fun event. It was a gorgeous day for the Irish! Remember, ‘If you’re lucky enough to be Irish, then you’re lucky enough!’”
Following the parade, participants and other folks gathered at 2nd Chance Bar to continue the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
