Lady Vikings dominate Class 13-14C Districts
The Charlo girls track team will be well-represented at the MHSA Class C state track meet in the majority of the events as they continue the strong tradition of being one of the top-tier teams in Class C loaded with talent.
Fryberger captures first in 100, 200
Carlee Fryberger is getting used to seeing her name at the top of every event list, and the MHSA Western Class 13, 14-C District track meet was no exception as she finished first in multiple events.
Fryberger finished first in the 100-meter with a time of 13.21, and a time of 27.13 in the 200.
Vikings Tyrah Hammond finished second in the 100, recording a time of 13.76, Kyla Tomlin set a personal record of 14.31 for fourth, and Kassadi Cox finished in sixth place with a time of 14.60. Cox also placed fourth in the 200, establishing an own record with a time of 29.43.
Hammond, Manuel excel in 400, 800
Lady Vikings Tyrah Hammond captured first in the 400, with a time of 1:03.85.
Allie Delaney finished first in the 400 recording a time of 1:04.13.
Destiny Manuel finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:53.70. Johnson Aasha, of Charlo, set a personal record with a time of 2:57.18 for third place, and Kamryn Caye finished sixth with a time of 3:04.23.
Love excels in 1600, 3200
Charlo’s Aryal Love set personal records in both the 1,600 and 3,200 distance events.
Love, took third in the 1,600 with a time of 6:23.71. Charlo’s Guinevere Contreras placed fourth with a personal record of 6:27.49, Destiny Manuel finished fifth with a time of 6:48.93. Arlee’s Cheyenne Pablo set an own record with a time of 6:49.08, placing sixth.
Love also set a personal record in the 3,200 with a time of 14:21.39 to finish second. Contreras finished third with a time of 14:34.89, and Pablo finished fourth with a time of 16:06.90.
Fryberger takes first in 100-meter hurdles
Carlee Fryberger captured first place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.73. Fryberger’s teammate Kaitlin Cox finished second with a time of 17.31, and Allie Delaney finished third with a time of 17.37.
Delaney also placed first in the 300 hurdles, recording a time of 50.65.
Charlo dominates relay events
Charlo’s 4X100 and 4X400 relay events both captured first place. The 4X100 relay consisting of Kaitlin Cox, Tyrah Hammond, Allie Delaney and Carly Fryberger finished first, with a time of 52.26.
The 4X400 relay team including Kyla Tomlin, Kassidi Cox, Tyrah Hammond and Delaney finished with a time of 4:29.66.
Lammerding takes shot put, discus
Arlee’s Peyton Lammerding finished first in both shot put and discus.
Lammerding finished first recording a distance of 34-10.00 in the shot put, and 100-03 in the discus.
Arlee’s Halle Adams finished third in the shot put with a personal record of 32-02.00, and Kyla Tomlin recorded a throw of 26-10.50 for fourth place.
Charlo’s Shelby Tryon finished fourth in the discus with a distance of 86-00.
Charlo’s Katelyn Young finished fifth in the javelin competition with a throw of 99-11.
Hammond capture first in pole vault
Charlo’s Tyrah Hammond finished first in the pole vault with a height of 8-00.00.
Kaitlin Cox finished second with a distance of 7-06.00, and Manuel finished third with a length of 6-06.00.
Lady Vikings’ Katelyn Young set a personal record of 6-06.00, placing fourth.
Cox captures jumping events
Kaitlin Cox finished first in both the long and triple jump. In the long jump, Cox recorded a distance of 16-01.00, and finished with a cumulative length of 34-08.00.
The Lady Vikings will be headed to state with several participants that qualified, and look to build on their long-standing tradition of track excellence.
It appears this year Charlo will return several track partipant, who will look to be on the podium, as the track program has continued to experience a resurgence, and enjoy the long-standing success it has in year’s past.
The Lady Vikings should not only have a several that qualify for state, but also several that will stand on the MHSA podium when the season has concluded with the loads of talent this program produces.
