TERS, Arlee graduation May 25, 26; Memorial Day parades in Polson, Ronan
Two Lake County high schools will celebrate graduation with commencement exercises this weekend while four others will celebrate their events over the next couple of weeks.
Two Eagle River School kicks off commencements on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Vicki Morigeau, reading specialist at TERS, is the lead speaker.
Arlee’s graduation ceremony is set for Sunday, May 26 in the old high school gym, beginning at 3 p.m. Noelle West is the valedictorian for the Arlee Class of 2019, and Ashley Potts is salutatorian. Family Consumer Science (FCS) teacher Leslie Jackson-Whiteman is the guest speaker.
St. Ignatius holds its commencement exercise on Saturday, June 1 at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
Graduation for the Ronan and Charlo is Sunday, June 2. The Ronan commencement begins at 2 p.m. in the Ronan Event Center, and the Charlo graduation is set for 3 p.m. in the high school gym.
The next weekend, Polson’s commencement is Sunday, June 9 at 1 p.m. in the Joe McDonald Fitness Center Gymnasium at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.
Honor students for St. Ignatius, Ronan, Charlo and Polson will be announced in next week’s Lake County Leader.
Polson, Ronan hold Memorial Day parades; ceremony in Polson
Ronan and Polson will hold Memorial Day parades on the holiday, Monday, May 27. They are coordinated by American Legion posts in Ronan and Polson.
The Ronan parade begins at 10 a.m., and the parade in Polson gets underway at 12:30 p.m. Following the Polson parade there will be a speaker and ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery, with a luncheon for veterans at the Polson VFW immediately after the ceremony.
The Polson Flathead Lake Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Memorial Day, and will be serving “free” ice cream right after the parade. The museum is offering 20 percent off admission on Memorial Day.
