Ronan High School runner James Normandeau is a crucial part of the resurgence of the Ronan running program.

Normandeau, a vital member of the Chiefs’ cross country team, had top-four finishes in both the 800-meter and 1,600, which was good enough for the junior to be on the podium.

Normandeau, who recorded top-five times at the MHSA Class A state meet May 23-25 at the Laurel Sports Complex in Laurel High School, continued to excel.

Normandeau recorded a fourth-place time of 1:58.54 in the 800, and another forth place time of 4:35.25 in the 1,600.

Discus thrower Landon Lynch has continued to improve on his throws throughout the season.

Lynch, who entered the MHSA Class A state event peaking at the right time, saved the best attempt for his last.

Lynch, who recorded a personal record of 138-03, was good enough to finish seventh at state.

The 4X400 relay team consisting of Christian Silgen, Zarec Couture Michael Irvine and Erik Rodda, recorded a time of 3:42.39 to earn a 16th-place finish.
