Audubon meeting
features birding
in Bolivia
“Birding Bolivia and Chile” by Josh Covill will be Mission Mountain Audubon’s educational program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Polson Library meeting room. Everyone is welcome.
Local bird expert, Josh Covill and his wife spent five months in South America exploring their passion for birds. They hiked volcanos, trekked the stone paths laid by the Inca Empire and birded along the way.
His presentation will feature photos of South American iconic birds such as toucans, penguins, hummingbirds, flamingos and more.
Covill works as a photo editor developing birding promotion programs with Kalispell videographer B.J. Worth. He also serves as the eBird reviewer for Lake and Sanders County.
Free showings of ‘Every Brilliant Thing’
in Polson
Free showings of Every Brilliant Thing, “a hilarious, powerful and timely play that shines a light on all the things that make life worth living,” will be playing in the Mission Valley, for one day only, Tuesday, November 12.
Audiences are invited to attend a 2 p.m. matinee at Polson’s log Theatre on the Lake, or a 7 p.m. showing at The Johnny Arlee Victor Charlo Theatre on the SKC campus in Pablo.
Both theatres open a half hour before the show. No reservations are necessary, admission is first come first served.
Free will donations go to benefit LOCAL resources for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Written by award-winning British playwright Duncan Macmillan with UK comedian Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing is a powerful show that explores mental health, families and the ways we love, in a hilarious and uplifting show for adults and teenagers.
Macmillan said he aimed to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness by creating new ways to discuss it openly – and by making people laugh.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Montana, Montana Dakota Utilities, and Town Pump have all contributed to support the Montana tour of this production

15th Annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner
The 15th Annual Ronan Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 at the Ronan Community Center.
Each year, the celebration draws several hundred residents, coming to share conversation, homemade pie and the chance to recognize the good that has come into their lives. Dinner is free and all are welcome.
Fifteen years ago, local cook Marie Cowan, formally of the Ronan Café kicked off the tradition, recruiting volunteers, foods and participants.
When it grew too large for the café, it was moved to the Ronan Community Center and is now sponsored by the Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce and this year it will be hosted by YWAM Tribal Waves.
Supplies and all the fixings come from donors throughout our area.
Festivities for the day include live music by Jim Pettit and His Little Big Band and a traditional turkey dinner.
Volunteers are needed to help serve, cook, buss and clean up. Turkeys, pies, and rolls, are also needed.

Lonepine Hall Community Event
The Lonepine Hall Community Club will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019.
Fundraising continues for issues of maintenance and improvements to the building. The spaghetti dinner will feature Kurt Beernsten as head cook. Included with spaghetti will be green salad, garlic toast, and a smorgasbord of desserts. As part of the dessert table there will be a pie contest. Pies will be judged by a panel of three with the top pie maker receiving a trophy and title of Best Pie Maker 2019.
Pies will then be added to the dessert table.
There will also be a silent auction. Christmas wreaths, handmade items, etc. Items are needed for the silent auction.

The club is currently selling raffle tickets for a Traeger Pro 575 Freestanding Grill purchased with support from Ace Hardware in Polson.
Tickets are $5/each or $10/3. Second place prize will be a Char-Log cold beverage cooler donated by the Hot Springs Gambles store.
The drawing for the grill and cooler will be at the end of the Silent Auction at 7 p.m.
Entertainment ideas are welcome.
