The Mission Cross Country High School team had an amazing season this year. The program has slowly been growing over the past five years. This was the biggest high school team I have ever coached. We had nine boys and three girls. I have a very young team with only two seniors, one boy and one girl.

I had a full boys team, who competed extremely well at every meet we were in. My top two boys, junior Isaiah Nasewytewa and freshman Zorn LaFrombois, battled each other at every race. They both met their pre-season goals of getting into the 17s. Isaiah’s personal best was 17:56 and Zoran’s was 17:59. They each took over a minute off of their times this season!

My next two boys, freshman Andrew Rush and senior Aidyn Rosenbaum, also took over a minute off their times this season. Andrew’s PR was 18:36 and Aidyn’s 18:53, a huge goal for Aidyn.

The rest of the team, Roman Gonzalez, Leo Peirce, Erich Morigeu, Landry Leishman and Kody Dillard, all competed hard all season. They took turns running the number five spot for our team.

My girls were very determined this year. They had injuries and illnesses. However, they never gave up. Karolyna Buck earned the top girls Divisional champion spot with a huge PR of 21:37. Madyson Currie took two minutes off her time at Divisionals and Emmy Flatlip was the only runner to PR at State, taking over two minutes off her original time!

I am extremely proud to coach these amazing student athletes. I couldn’t do it alone and would like to say a huge “Thank You” to all the parents. They all contributed to the team in one way or another! I love this team and their families. Thank you so much for allowing me to coach your children.
