View from the Library: Plenty of fall programs
Fall is upon us and with falling leaves come rising program opportunities.
There is so much going on at the library in October, we hope you will be able to attend at least one of our exciting events.
At 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, the Library welcomes back author Sharon Randolph for her program “Early Footprints to the Areas of Yellowstone, Glacier, and Canada’s Mountain National Parks.”
The story of a rich and active history is portrayed in a 90-minute slideshow accompanied by Sharon’s expertise. Sharon’s previous program on Canada’s National Parks was a big hit, so we are excited to have her back.
Join us for the Polson Chamber of Commerce’s SPLASH from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. We will be co-hosting with Blodgett Creamery. Behind the scenes tours and demonstrations will be available that evening as well as a little scavenger hunt. If you don’t have a library card yet, you can sign up for one that night and check out materials.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, we will have a Humanities Montana Conversations program with Mary Jane Bradbury. Mary Jane has entertained us before with her portrayal of historical women and joins us this time with the program “Me and Martha: Intimate Reflections of Dora DuFran about the Real Life of Calamity Jane.”
As always, our programs are free and open to the public.
Heather will teach a class titled “Better Safe than Sorry: Computer Backups and How to Do Them” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Our Friday Night at the Library movie this month will show at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. This classic 1980s film will get you in the mood for Halloween (check our website for the title). We provide the popcorn and you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Please be sure you are in the library before the doors lock at 6 p.m.
The Library is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 10 for a Staff Development Day, and will close at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17.
