Archie Earl Forman, 84

Archie Earl Forman, 84, passed away Sept. 29. 2019.

Archie was born Dec. 18, 1934 to Archie and Lorna Wemple Forman in Polson, Montana. He grew up on the Ranch in Valley View along with his five siblings taking on many chores and activities that were required of life growing up on the ranch. Archie graduated from Polson High School and then served in the Army for two years.

In the ensuing years Archie was a rancher, construction operator, truck driver and an auto body repairman. He took over the family ranch in Valley View after his dad retired.

Archie married Jeanette James in 1965 and became a father to her two children, Sheila and Tracy. Jeanette passed away in 1996.

Archie married Barbara Atwood on Feb. 5, 2000. After Archie’s retirement he and Barb were able to spend many years as “Snowbirds” enjoying all of what the south had to offer and developing long lasting friendships. They also served for several years as camp hosts at various campgrounds.

Having attended Auto Body School, Archie put his talents to work repairing and restoring vintage cars as well as tractors. He was very proud of the restoration of his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria which he drove in numerous parades and participated in activities of the Pioneer Car Club in Polson.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lorna, brother Donald, wife Jeanette and son Tracy.

He is survived by his wife Barb and her children; Sue Ann Sizemore (Clancy) of Helena, MT, Shelly Atwood-Deneault of Helena, MT, Scott Atwood (Kelly) Montrose, CO, Sandy Atwood Wilson (Lewis Brown) of Las Vegas, NV, his daughter Sheila Clairmont of Liberty Lake, WA. His siblings, Thomas Forman (Rose-Marie Mandryk) of Polson, MT and Mesquite NV, Linda Richwine of Portland, OR, Lorna Fox of Missoula, MT, Nancy Forman-Ebel (Douglas Ebel) of Florence, MT, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

A memorial service at Polson Community Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 with a luncheon after the service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
