Lady Pirates golf takes third at Frenchtown Invite, boys place seventh
At the two day Frenchtown Invitational that spanned two different golf courses, the Polson girls took third while the boys placed seventh. As for the Ronan teams, the Maidens placed sixth while the Chiefs came in eighth.
At the individual level for girls, Lady Pirate Ellie Thiel turned in a career best on the second day to finish third, Cali Cannon tied for 11th, while Esme Yarbrough was one stroke back from placing among the top 15. The Maidens placed a duo among the top 15 with Kylee Niemeyer tying for 13th, while Madyson RunningCrane took 15th.
Trey Kelly of Polson was the only Mission Valley area boys to place among the top 15.
Polson continues to uphold their tradition of having one of the top-tier golf teams in the Western region of the state of Montana.
The Lady Pirates, and Pirates continue to work on improving, in spite of losing several key players to graduation.
Headed forward the Pirates, and Lady Pirates, look to march their way to a Montana High School Association Class A state golf tournament appearance, as both individuals, and as a team, from a group that continues to uphold the tradition long-standing coach Bill Owen, who retired this season, standard of excellence, with several individuals, and team capturing state accolades over the years.
