Lone Pine man accused of gun crime

A Lone Pine man is facing two felony charges in Silver Bow County after an incident at a motel last month.

According to a March 5 story in the Montana Standard, Beau Thomas Ulvick, 39, was jailed on three felony counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and tampering with evidence. The tampering charge was later dropped.

Law enforcement officers responded to America’s Best Value Inn in Rocker at 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 after an employee called about an assault.

While talking to the clerk in the motel lobby, police saw Ulvick walk in the door.

According to the Standard, earlier in the evening, Ulvick and another man argued in the motel bar and were asked to leave. As they left the bar, Ulvick allegedly pulled a gun on the other man, told him to get on his knees, and repeatedly punched him.

Later, the alleged victim was able to reach his room and the suspect left.

After questioning Ulvick, officers obtained a warrant to search his room at the motel. Inside the room was a 9mm pistol. Ulvick attempted to remove blood from his hands after police told him they needed a sample.

According to court officials in Silver Bow County, Ulvick bonded out of jail March 9. His bond is set at $50,000.

His case is set to be transferred to District Court April 5.
