Polson High School enacts spectator plan
As it will at many falls sports events, things will be a little different at Polson High School this year.
Prinicipal Andy Fors released the school’s plan for spectators at athletic events for the start of the 2020-21 season.
“At this time, the school has made the decision to allow four tickets per participating home team athlete and two tickets per participating visiting team athlete,” Fors wrote in a letter explaining the new policy. “Spectators will need the school issued ticket along with the price of admission to enter PHS football, volleyball and soccer home contests.”
Tickets for those events are adults $6, seniors $4, and students/children $4.
Tickets will be distributed to home and visiting athletes to provide to their spectator designees. The coordination of tickets will be facilitated by the Polson High School Athletic Directors Office.
Fors said social distancing expectations will remain in place for both indoor and outdoor facilities. Spectators will be expected to allow for appropriate physical social distancing (six feet) while remaining masked at all times while on Polson School District property.
Household members and families will be allowed to sit together. Home spectators and visiting spectators will have designated seating sections and will not mingle before or after contests. All children in attendance will be expected to remain with their parents at all times.
There will be no student sections, pep bands, or concessions at any home event for the time being. Those spectators who do not have a ticket for admission can view the varsity events which will be streamed live on the NFHS Network.
“We understand that providing only four tickets to home student athletes and two to visiting student athletes is an inconvenience to many spectators,” Fors wrote. “We appreciate your support and patience during these challenging times.”
Fors said the plan is subject to change.
