The Lady Pirates (11-7) made their second trip to the State A stage in as many seasons, riding the skill sets of six seasoned seniors. Until they faced Eastern side of the state competition in postseason play, Polson had prevailed over each of their nonconference opponents. Five of their seven losses would be to then-undefeated Columbia Falls and county rival Ronan.

The cumulative contributions of seniors Ara Mercer, Berkley Ellis, Chloe DuCharme, Hallie Moss, Kobbey Smith and Maggie Todd accounted for close to 500 kills, over 12 dozen service aces, the lion's share of set assists, three dozen blocks and 1,000 defensive digs.

Filling those vacancies next season will pose its challenges, but the remainder of the roster can now draw on multiple seasons of exposure against top caliber state tournament level competition.
