Local briefs: Polson Redevelopment Agency seeks new member
The Polson Redevelopment Agency, a five-member board that meets quarterly and as needed, has an opening as Gayle Siemers’ term comes to an end Dec. 31. Members are appointed by the Polson City Commission and serve four-year terms.
The board primarily assists the commission in the administration and implementation of urban renewal and tax increment financing. Other current members are Molly Owen, Brodie Moll and Sheldon Ekland-Olson.

Arlee School Board of Trustees has an opening
The Arlee School Board of Trustees will have one open position for a three-year term beginning in May, and the filing period opens Dec. 10. Candidates have until March 25 to declare their candidacy.
A Declaration of Intent and Oath of Candidacy is available on the Arlee School District website at arleeschools.org under School Board/Election Forms.
The declaration can be turned into Lonnie Morin at the Administration Building on the Arlee campus or to the Lake County Elections Office in Polson. Elections will be held by mail ballot.

Dixon Senior Center meals available
Dixon Senior Center has opened its doors for eating in, while adhering to social distancing precautions. The center continues to accept takeout meal requests. Meals will be served at 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. They cost $4 per serving and will be delivered to Dixon residents upon request.
Upcoming meals include hamburger pot pie, fruit, rolls and dessert on Monday, or meatballs and gravy, rice, fruit/vegetable and rolls on Thursday, Dec. 17.

Pachyderms hosting social hour Friday
The Lake County Pachyderm Club is hosting a social hour at noon Friday for its final meeting of 2020. Attendees are asked to bring cookies to share to celebrate the holidays.
The gathering will take place at the Polson Rural Fire Station, 25 Regatta Road, Polson.
Flathead Audubon Society offering online presentation
Instead of an in-person monthly meeting, Flathead Audubon is offering a special online video presentation at 7 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will feature Cory Davis, a research associate at the University of Montana who spent many years studying birds throughout the western U.S. and occasionally abroad. He will share stories and photos from a Smithsonian Institution project he assisted with in Belize several years ago.
