Officials at Two Eagle River School in Pablo decided to cancel boys and girls basketball this season as a precaution amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lady Eagles were expected to have a much more competitive season with the return of the majority of their roster further seasoned with a year of hardwood experience. The team was young in almost the ultra sense of the word with nine underclassmen seeing court time over the course of the schedule, including a trio of eighth-graders.

Leading scorer Sarah Gardipe turned in a half dozen double digit outings, while Ce'Alana Shepherd almost netted a dozen triples on the season that included a varsity career high 23 when she splashed seven against St. Regis.

The boys were in the mix of several games last season. Though they didn't prevail for a victory during the regular schedule, they were in contention within a handful of points of four contests. Others could be summed up as a tale of two halves whose outcomes might have been altered had tempo and scoring been more consistent over the course of both portions of the game.

But once the Eagles embarked upon the postseason at Districts, they picked up their first win and showcase their competitiveness over the course of their remaining foray through the bracket. Michael Brown would mint a new varsity career high 28 in the semifinal loss against St. Regis, splashing eight triples from beyond the arc.
