There soon will be a new member of the Polson Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Kate Sheridan, executive director of the Flathead Lakers, will join the board in January.

"I was impressed with the Chamber's communications during this year around COVID-19, and several fellow (board) members have made me feel at home immediately - from introducing me to Rotary, the Chamber, and other colleagues, to even being my home loan officer for my first house," Sheridan said.

Originally from the West Coast, Kate moved to Missoula in 2010 to pursue a master’s degree in environmental studies. After graduation, she worked in a variety of fields and positions, including barista, assistant farm manager, and conservation campaign organizer, before joining the Flathead Lakers in 2019.

We wish her the best of luck and look forward to learning more about her in the coming year.

Domino’s coming

Previously Dawn’s Floral and Pieces boutique, the building at 318 Main St. in Polson has been demolished for its transformation to a Domino’s Pizza.

Crews originally left the building’s facade standing as they tore down the rest of the structure, but a check on Monday revealed that the facade was gone as well.

The addition of a Domino’s will bring the number of businesses in Polson offering pizza to at least six.

We were unable to get much information regarding ownership or an opening target date by press time, but we’ll keep digging. Stay tuned.

New expertise at LCCDC

There’s also a new face over at Lake County Community Development Corporation in Ronan, where Leonard Malin has joined on as director of business development.

Malin has had quite the interesting career, which includes time as a bank examiner and loan officer. He also worked for Wyo-Ben, a Montana-based mining, manufacturing and distribution company, where he rose from plant controller CFO. He’s also spent time in the nonprofit sector, including a stint with Tumbleweed Runaway Program in Billings, where he was finance and human resources director.

The Montana native holds a bachelor of science in business and accounting from Montana State University, and an MBA from the University of Montana.

We have it on good authority that he prefers the maroon and silver when Brawl of the Wild time comes around.

Welcome, Leonard.
